The Budget Committee voted to present their recommendation to the Board, which is basically this spreadsheet (click here), minus # 19 (moving from 2 planning periods to 1) and minus half of # 28 (reduction of paraprofessionals). But the details of the meeting are so interesting to read, as always…click here.

CRCT testing for 1st and 2nd grades – gone.
School closings – temporarily gone (until next year).
7 day teaching period – gone from the budget cuts.
100 paraprofessional – gone (but it’s no longer 200).
Millions of dollars – gone (due to sloppy paperwork).

Well, any progress is progress and we are thankful DCSS now as a FAQ online. This is their effort to help clear up any misinformation or confusion. Here’s the link. Hopefully DCSS will continue to expand the list of questions in the future.
